Poor experience
Booked lunch at this hotel for the Fico restaurant and when we arrived a notice at the entrance said that the restaurant would not be open until 5pm although we had booked online only a few hours before and it was accepted.
We went into reception and was told that the restaurant was open but upstairs.
I asked if there was a lift and was told no that there wasn’t a lift. Not very friendly for disabled customers!!!!
When we got upstairs this was not the Fico restaurant where we had booked our table but was what appeared to be a room set out with a few tables.
We sat down and ordered a drink and was presented with market menu that was very basic with very little choice to offer so we asked for the À la Carte menu and was told that the market menu was all that was available so we paid for our drinks and left.
We booked the table in the Fico Restaurant on the basis of having an Al a Carte menu but was not informed prior to arriving that this main restaurant was closed.

I arrived to relax after a stressful.time and found bottom floor and most other down stair areas are ripped apart not wh
Paid for four nights and when i arrive i am meet with a full building site not like the pics sent i asked to cancel they said no i would lose my money.

A mixed of good and bad -
I will start with the good - most of the staff very nice for most of the day ! Rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfortable- food was delicious- - now for the bad - we travelled up from England to see some friends get married on the Saturday night. This was the same night as England was playing Holland in the World Cup. At 10 pm, we went to the second bar to watch the football while the wedding was carrying on in the main function room., , around 1130 the wedding had wound down and a few remaining. Scottish guys joined us in the bar to watch the football along with the 10 lads from London. Who were also stayed in the hotel, At 11.30 while the football was still playing the bar manager rudely come over and told us he was closing the bar in five minutes we pointed out to him that we were part of the wedding party and that they had paid for a late license to 1 am which point he said he didn’t care that he was going to shut the bar and we had to order a drink now as it would be the last one! He said we were free to stay in the room, but the bar will be closed , again. We pointed out that the late license have been paid for to 1 am for the wedding party, but he disregarded this comment. Poured us our last drinks and shut the bar.!! this was handled very poorly but when we asked for the hotel manager, there was no manager on site!! If he had left the bar open till 1 pm. He would’ve had 20 people drinking and spending money in the bar so I’m not really sure how the owner is going to feel about that.!! The way this was handled means we would not stay there again -

Fabulous if you like a springy bed!
Great location on outskirts of Hamilton. Light airy and lots of character.
Sadly not accessible as steep steps to building and no lift to the rooms, which is such a shame.
Our room was light and airy with a window that opened out. Lots of wardrobe space and lots of mirror s! Television provided plus hair dryer,iron and ironing board plus a decent coffee tea tray. The bed was a decent size but let down by dodgy mattress with springs that pinged and could be felt every time you moved. We didn't have the best nights sleep.
Bathroom was nice, clean and fantastic shower over a jacuzzi bath. We never used the bath so can't comment on that but the shower was easy operate, great pressure and loads of hot water.
We only stayed 1 night and that didn't include breakfast but room only was fab value for money such a shame about the mattress and the lack of a lift.
