Stylish Apartments Near Leeds Playhouse

These apartments fitted the bill perfectly for our night on the town in Leeds. We took the 2 bedroomed apartment, which was spacious, contemporary and super-clean. This flat has 2 good sized bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, with toiletries supplied. Apart from the kettle, we didn’t utilise the kitchen, but it is very well fitted out, and includes a utility room (washer and dryer). The location was quite convenient, just steps from the Playhouse. It is a student area and there was an unmistakable whiff of weed in the air, but it felt safe, and we weren’t troubled by noise. The site has no parking. A further potential downside of this accommodation is that they are managed remotely, there is no on-site representation. The procedure after booking is that you receive the number of your apartment, and once in the building, you phone Charles Hope, and they enable entry electronically. Thereafter you use the fob that is left in the room. This part all went to plan, but we did experience a hiccup a little later when we discovered there was no water!
This was rectified quickly via a call to the Charles Hope agent, and I can attest to their speedy responsiveness to calls. I assume this must be a 24/7 service.
Overall, we had a great stay, and felt the accommodation to be great value. Would definitely stay again.

Terrible

Avoid! Terrible experience and customer service. We arrived at the apartment building and were denied entrance by the building manager. We were told that it was due to a contract breach between Charles Hope and Moda. We had to find a new hotel as did the other families who were turned away. We had to arrange refund via Airbnb due to lack of timely response from this company. Really disrupted our break.

Appalling guest relations

The management cancelled my booking within less than 48 hrs of checking in. I got a refund via booking.com but they still have not cancelled the security deposit.
The week before they requested a further security deposit in addition to the one they had charged at the time of booking. Booking.com intervened to stop them from charging this second security deposit.
They left me scrambling to get another booking. My replacement accommodation returned my security deposit within a day!

Highly recommend

Lovely clean apartment, easy to check in and out. Telephone or online chat support whenever needed. Fantastic value and in ideal location short walk from first direct arena perfect for a stay when going to a concert. Would book again.
There is a sainsburys next to the building which saved us a lot of money and didn't have to dine out, just cooked our own and there's a dishwasher too.

The experience was great until the electricity when off an hour after I used the oven/microwave in the evening - almost had dinner in the dark with my husband. Luckily, the Guest Service helped me quickly via WhatsApp.
Another missing item was toilet tissue. I was only provided with one roll for 4 days stay. It forced me to purchase tissue with my own money.
