Don't be put off by the exterior, the room was great!! Very clean, comfortable bed and had everything needed for a nights stay. The gentleman that treated us was really helpful in helping us find parking. I would definitely book again.

My nephew and I had to relocate our hotel from the Premier at the last minute due to a change in the date of the Leicester City game, so we booked into the Bell Gate House. Having seen some reviews, we weren't expecting a great deal, just somewhere to sleep. However, despite the unassuming entrance in a perhaps slightly rundown area of town, we were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel.
The room was very clean and smart, even included (a very slightly bashed) fridge, which we didn't use. We were told by the very friendly manager (owner?) that the beds and mattresses in our room were brand new - and they were the most comfortable beds we have slept on in a hotel for a long while.
The only fault in our room was the hose to the shower was a bit leaky, but you are getting wet in the shower anyway so that didn't matter! And yes, the thread on the stair carpet wa a bit bare - but very clean.
We knew that breakfast wasn't included.
For the price, this is the best value hotel in Leicester!

Hotel advertised as 24h reception. I arrived after midnight and after waiting for 10min outside someone came to open the door. Proceeded to complain that they were closed. Wanted to charge me £10 for the late check in. When I refused I was called a (profanity) and handed the key in furry. Terrible experience.
