Terrific stay at the Dixie Dean hotel
We had a ball in Liverpool & our stay at The Dixie Dean was fab. The room was huge & had a very large spa bath with shower overhead. What made our stay special were the staff, so friendly & we had the best tasting cocktails which set us up for a night out in Liverpool. We will definitely be back.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!- Vomit next to the bed and semen on the sofa
Recently stayed overnight at the Dixie Dean Hotel in Liverpool, was absolutely disgusted with the state of the rooms. I never normally leave reviews however this is the exception. We had originally booked a double room but arrived and was told we had been “upgraded”- i’m not really quite sure how this was an upgrade considering the only difference was the extra 4 beds, which was unneeded for 2 people. The room had two double beds, two singles and a sofa bed. We then noticed stains, dried up vomit, dust and rips in the flooring. We went downstairs to ask to change rooms. We were told the hotel was fully booked and nothing could be done except getting a member of staff to clean the room as the cleaners had gone home. We were also told that the rooms are randomly allocated through booking.com meaning you don’t know which room you’re getting- which seems unusual to me to not get the room you’ve paid for?After being told we couldn’t move rooms we requested a refund which we were told wasn’t possible- and we’d have to go through booking.com. We were told we could leave however wouldn’t be refunded. To be quite honest the man behind reception was extremely confrontational and seems as if he needs to not only learn people skills but also hospitality skills.When a member of staff( i believe to be Crystal- who herself was understanding- came to look at the room she herself couldn’t defend the state of the room. After looking at the state of the room she later came back and “magically” a room had become free- in a fully booked hotel? We were moved to a slightly cleaner room which still had mold and dust plus pubic hair in the bed and used eyelashes on the towels. Honestly if you’re looking for a clean hotel during your stay in Liverpool - i’d avoid! The rooms seriously needs a deep clean- which doesn’t happen daily like we were told. If you want to sleep with sick next to your bed and semen on the sofa then this is perfect.

When you brought the condition of your original room to our attention, a member of our team attended to the matter immediately. The issues identified were actioned, and we subsequently arranged for you to be moved to an alternative room. We were pleased that, following the room move, you were happy with the alternative accommodation provided.
We would also like to clarify that room allocation is based on availability and the requirements of each booking. The fact that a suitable room subsequently became available does not indicate that the hotel was not operating at full occupancy. Our team worked to find a solution to your concerns and, ultimately, were able to accommodate your request for a room move.
We take the cleanliness and presentation of our bedrooms extremely seriously. The standards described in your review are not reflective of what we found in the room.

Beautiful Hotel in a perfect location
From the minute we walked into the Dixie Dean we were amazed.
The lobby is beautifully decorated and feels spacious and inviting. We were wowed by our room, which was spacious, extremely comfortable and very clean. It was also very quiet at night and we did not hear anyone other guest coming or going.
The staff cannot do enough for you, and each and every one of them were polite and friendly. The location is perfect, a few minutes walk to Cavern Quarter.
Special mention to Melanie who went above and beyond, Aaron also, who helped the evening one of our party hurt her ankle. We felt more like family than guests. Have to say, this is a special place. We will be back.

Very impressed with the size of the rooms for the price, it was great to have so much space, it really made the holiday special. The buffet breakfast was excellent, especially the scrambled eggs which were the best I've ever had! Plenty of comfortable seating for breakfast. Nice decor throughout. Excellent location and a beautiful building. Large television. Beds were amazing, so comfy!
Really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back. Excellent value and would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.
