We had a lovely night at the hotel .
The staff there are very welcoming, it was lovely and warm, .
The room we had was clean and everything you would need

Worse week ever
We were put in to this hotel as our council were doing extensive work on our house which ment we couldnt stay due to dust and mess.
We also had our well behaved dog with us too.
Just for the record 1ST IMPRESSION.
The flags hanging outside need replacing.
Maintenance ie weeds, flooded carpark etc needs to be kept together.
Elephant by front door needs Skipping all smashed
Ceiling in bar looks a mess, paint?
We booked into room 4 which was 1st floor, on 1st impressions of the room, Very dated, NO kettle, Every surface was covered in months worth of dust, carpet stained, odd headboards, lights were diagonal to the bed,
Stained pillows mattress and even silver fish alive under the sheets. The bathroom horrendous, cracked filthy tiles, black mouldy silicone, brackets hanging off the walls, bath looked like it had never been cleaned ever!
After complaining to the reception about the state of room, we were told there were no one about til the morning, and not having a kettle to make a drink with, they eventually did bring one up, which was filthy!
By this time we were totally fed up, and couldnt bring ourselves to even eat..so tryed to get some rest, ON TOP OF THE BED.
I woke up short of breath at 3am, my eyes had swollen up that bad i had to get out of the hotel..even our dog was sick too, which was very unusual so we packed our things and walked back to our own home..soaked to the skin as it was raining, we had to sleep in our front room armchair as our house was upside down in mess!
I had to have an anti histamine tab to try fight what ever had reacted with me in the hotel room.
After calling our housing officer the next morning, we returned to the Commodore reception to get some answers on the state of the room..
One of the staff started laughing when we mentioned the state of the insects in the bed. Like we were making it all up
We were told " our cleaners are very thorough"Not that thorough, when the mangeress had just got back off holiday today, not knowing the situation, she said that she would move us to a different room, at the other end of the building..
This room was small but slighty more updated, aprt from the tilt window which wouldnt stay open unless you jammed the curtains in it, not ideal when it was raining heavily, the tv had No signal, so couldnt watch, even the maintenance man couldnt sort it out.
Shower window had a great crack in it too.
And the 3 corridor doors were banging All night long right against the bedside of room.
All we could hear was people chatting in a jacuzzi in a gazebo at the side of a very green pool that was closed.
We decided to try brave the food in the bar area, and were sat with another couple who had come for a wedding..when 2 little dogs (managers dogs) decided to wee all over the rug infront of us..LOVELY.
Which instantly put us off our food.
We called the manageress over and she said oh i cant believe theyve done that...ok...
Breakfast was like being in a unorganised cattle market..No fruit,
You had to wait for hot food to come out, and the toast was like a free for all..to get it hot Otherwise u had it cold.
Having spent a week here, not by our own choosing, we would definitely not stay here again.
Swerve it.
No apologies or any incentive to return.
We also had our well behaved dog with us too.

A Wonderful Stay in the Heart of Llandrindod Wells
We recently spent three nights at The Hotel Commodore and couldn’t have been happier with our choice it really is a gem of a hotel in this lovely Welsh town.
From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and genuine. The staff are an absolute credit to the place; every single team member was friendly, attentive and happy to help with anything we needed, whether that was giving recommendations for local walks, advising on places to visit, or simply making sure we had everything we required during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and their approach made us feel right at home straight away.
Our room was beautifully presented, clean, comfortable and well maintained. We had a lovely view across the town and surrounding countryside which was an extra treat. The bed was really cosy – we enjoyed some of the best night’s sleep we’ve had in a hotel for ages and the room had all the facilities we needed, including tea and coffee making facilities, plenty of storage space, and a modern, spotless en-suite bathroom.
The hotel itself has so much character; it’s full of traditional charm but has all the modern comforts you’d hope for. The public areas are welcoming and well-kept, and we particularly enjoyed relaxing in the lounge area in the evenings. The location is perfect too it’s right in the centre of town, just a short walk from the beautiful lake, parks, shops and cafés, yet it feels quiet and peaceful so you’re never disturbed by noise.
We ate dinner and breakfast here each day, and the food was excellent. Breakfast offered a great choice from a hearty cooked breakfast to lighter options, all freshly prepared and very tasty. Evening meals were equally impressive, with a good menu that used local produce where possible, and every dish we tried was delicious and well presented. The bar area is also great for a drink or two, with a good selection of beverages and a relaxed atmosphere.
Whether you’re visiting for a short break, a longer holiday or even attending an event, I’d highly recommend The Hotel Commodore. It offers fantastic value for money, and the combination of great service, comfortable accommodation and brilliant location makes it the perfect place to stay in Llandrindod Wells.
We’ll definitely be coming back!

Don't stay here stay in the much superior Metropole Hotel
Just returned from a very poor stay here on a Ogdens Coach tour. On arrival check in OK, until told room 41 4th floor, had asked for ground floor room. The lift was a dated two person lift.
Arrived in a horrible room 41. Cases arrived after over 30mminute late obviously due to the small lift. The room was quite the worse I have stayed in. I have attached photos taken, the two single beds in what can only be described as being in a shoe box. We found a previous occupant had dumped their worn orange foam ear plugs in the top of the radiator. They were still there when we left although the room was supposed to get clean. The pipe work in the bathroom was something you see on a submarine. I know it's an old building but these pipes could have been boxed in.
We go on these coach trips with two other couples and meet once a month on them. We always try to sit seated together in the hotels restaurant. On entering this hotels restaurant on the first night we were placed on a table, with a couple not known to us with our surenames on a place card. This was the same with both our other friends. Never ever come across this placement in all the hotels we have visited
This hotel displays a winners plaque from the TV show " Four in a bed". The owners quite clearly didn't use room 41 in the competition.

Saved by the food
Stayed in the commodore after a 4 hour trip from London and only needed to stay for 1 night. We were checked in by a very pleasant young man.After a 4 hour drive we were Hungary so had dinner in the hotel restaurant where we were served by another very pleasant and friendly young waitress. The food itself was of a very high quality and beautifully cooked and plenty of it so full marking for check in and the dining experience. Now we come to the room and that is where the commodore falls down. The room itself was a basic double so not very big but the dark furniture made it feel even smaller. There were cobwebs everywhere the sheet had spots of dry ink all over it the shower was hopeless the shower mat was perished but thankfully the comfortable bed saved the day.overall it was a decent stay helped greatly but the food and the staff.like I say we only stayed for 1 night,would I want to stay longer...I'm not so sure.
