Room was clean and tidy. Staff were welcoming. Very close to Kings Cross station.

There's a bedbug over there. Don't go
And if you have bedbugs, they blame you for allergic reactions and don't give you a refund

Even prisons have better standards!
Even prisons are required to meet basic health and hygiene standards. Does the NHS know about this hostel?
The female dorm was unbearably hot during a heatwave—easily 5°C warmer than outside. The fan didn't work, and the room was humid and suffocating. Everything is ridiculously cramped: you can't fit your hand properly under the bathroom tap, and you can't even sit upright on the lower bunk without hitting your head (I'm 156 cm tall).
The kitchen, dorm, and bathrooms were filthy. Breakfast had very little choice, and despite having a coffee machine, coffee costs extra.
The staff were rude and intimidating. The most concerning part was when, while I was alone in the female dorm and asleep in my pyjamas, a man knocked saying "customer service." Before I could respond, he opened the door anyway. I had to cover myself with a towel and pretend to be asleep. I left the following morning and would never stay here again.

Regarding the heat in the dorm, we're sorry the fan wasn't working. If this happens again, please do let our Reception team know (open 24/7) so we can bring you a replacement fan straight away and get Maintenance to look into it properly.
We're also sorry the kitchen, dorm and bathrooms weren't as clean as they should have been during your stay. Our Housekeeping Team do several rounds a day, but things can occasionally slip between checks, so please always flag anything to Reception in the moment so we can put it right straight away.
Most importantly, we take your comments about the incident in your dorm extremely seriously. Guests should always feel safe and have their privacy respected, and what you've described is not acceptable. I will be escalating this directly to our Management Team so it can be properly looked into.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was v warm but it was 30c and they had a fan so wasn’t their fault I’ll definitely stay again location was perfect

Uncomfortable
I stayed here on an overnight stay on 26th June and found the experience very uncomfortable. I didn't have a good night's sleep at all. It was the hottest night of the year which didn't help.
Even though it was clean (from view), I found the bunkbed very uncomfortable. You have to make your own bed as well with the sheets provided, which I'd rather not do. I had to pay a further £2 to guarantee a bottom bunk and for £45 I thought it was overpriced.
Yes, the location was very good near King's Cross station, but you might as well pay an extra £40 for a hotel room elsewhere to guarantee comfort.
You get a locker to put your belongings in, to which you have to bring your own lock. The room was shared, and based on my 1 night, everyone respects each other's privacy.

For temperature, our reception is available 24/7 and can help with fans or a portable radiator to make the room more comfortable. Regarding beds, we know setting up after a long journey isn’t ideal. Arriving earlier can help—there’s an early check-in option for a small fee, or you can use our paid luggage storage so you can get your bed ready at your own pace. The team is always happy to lend a hand if you need help with the setup.
