Atmospheric old pub with excellent facilities

Excellent location close to Lydford gorge, on quiet road next to interesting English Heritage castle. Plenty of car parking opposite, free after 6.00pm.

Another fabulous stay at The Castle Inn

Another fabulous stay. Excellent experience from check in to check out, the team at the Castle are truly wonderful. Our room was beautiful with lots of thoughtful touches. Lovely to sit in the garden (which is looking fabulous) in the sunshine and seeing everyone having a great time. The food was sublime - the pork special was one of the best dishes that i’ve ever tasted. Thank you for another wonderful stay and see you in a few months.

Very happy guest …..

What a fabulous place to both stay and eat.Great location very close to Lydford Gorge with nice walks.Could not fault the room at all it was beautiful and had everything you would need for a relaxing stay. It was a sunny day so we made use of the garden for an afternoon drink, great atmosphere.The staff were very attentive and made a fuss of our little dog, a real find if you like to travel with your dog. I would definitely say it was value for money and we will be back for a second visit. Thank you.

Gorgeous village setting for a fabulous hotel stay.

A super one night stay by myself as I was visiting friends nearby who were unable to put me up. The Castle Inn is quite olde world but modern and up to date in its facilities. My room was upgraded to The Cottage. A lovely room with ensuite shower (AND a roll top bath in the bedroom - not used!), comfortable bed, TV and 2 easy chairs.
Delicious breakfast. All staff courteous and friendly. Lovely village setting near Lydford Gorge. Visit the church if you have the chance.

Break on Dartmoor

Excellent country hotel for exploring Dartmoor.
Lovely dining room with good food. Service was also excellent and all staff courteous and friendly Our room was spacious with all amenities
We will definitely be back.
