We went for one night, arrived early as you can use the facilities before check in, great for a relax and swim.
We ate in the Rampsbeck restaurant, gorgeous food, would definitely recommend.
Breakfast had absolutely everything you can think of, make your own waffles, croissants, granola, cooked breakfast, fresh muffins...great if you have kids that are fussy eaters like mine.
No slippers provided so bring flip flops for spa/pool, not a problem we just didnt realise, we will next time.
Very child and dog friendly
Access to the lake couldn't be more on your doorstep! Some outdoor games available like badminton and a tree swing.
We will be back, as it was honestly one of the best hotels we have stayed at.

Family occasion and lunch

A beautiful place right on Ullswater lake.
Very serene setting by the lake gives it a special feel.
We had a family occasion followed by lunch in the 'Living Space' restaurant.
A special 'Thank You' to Sam Parkington, the manager for his help with our special day, with respectful advice and communication.
Lunch in the 'Living Space' was lovely with delicious food .
Thanks to the staff for their attentive service also.
There is so much to do here but still has a calm relaxing feel around the place.
We will be back whenever possible.

impeccable relaxing experience in the busy peak district

The hotel is just amazing, bed is super comfy. Environment is peaceful and clam. breakfast is really good! the hot tub is clean!

Good once rooms were sorted.

I like this hotel as location is stunning but only the rooms in the modern wing are nice to stay in especially in warm weather as old house is stuffy and noisy . Lots of small kids in holidays and do avoid if you don’t like children everywhere crying! Pool is v nice and lake facilities are wonderful ( swimming etc ) . Front of house team and manager very helpful as had issues with rooms that were booked which they sorted very efficiently. Food decent but could improve quality in living space restaurant.

We had the most delicious pizza from the glasshouse and sat looking out over the lake , just dreamy
