Both myself and a colleague stay in this hotel for 4 nights .
Both of us thought the hotel was lovely .
The food was excellent , very clean and great rooms .

Wipe your feet on the way out!

I don’t take pleasure in writing a review criticising an establishment but sadly this warrants it. Don’t be fooled by the promotional photos featured on Booking.com as they are either well staged or library pictures. The room was dirty; had ill fitting netting and curtains, stains on the carpet, mould in the bathroom and a dirty toilet. Furthermore the mattress was more like a small camp bed, the walls were paper thin and the smell of cooking was overwhelming. Needless to say we left and found a five star improvement at Wokefield Estate near Reading for less than the cost of this place.

Overall about a 3 star stay. While the staff were friendly and helpful, the room I stayed in (in one of the annex buildings) was dated and felt unclean. There was black mold in the bathroom and the doors either jammed on closing or slammed so loud you were woken up in the night. The main building might be different.

Christmas Day lunch

I went on Christmas Day with my family for Christmas lunch, there was 11 of us, the food was lovely, staff were amazing, excellent service, they went above and beyond to make sure we were all happy and had everything we wanted

I had a very nice stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. The location was convenient, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. I especially enjoyed the excellent service and delicious food. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
