Bank holiday stay for wedding nearby

We booked The Wheatsheaf Inn as it was close to Cripps Barn where we went for a wedding on Sunday. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We booked a Cosy Room which was on the first floor facing the street but we had two good night’s sleep, no disturbance with noise at all. We had a meal Saturday night and two breakfasts which were all very tasty and nicely presented. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying there.

Awful room

My husband booked a surprise weekend away at this hotel for our anniversary, it was terrible, upon arrival we were shown to a dark dingy room on the back of pub/hotel which had a walk way right by it to outside toilet and the bear garden patio . The room was very very dark had to keep shutters closed because of people walking past , only 1 very sml window to open was extremely hot and stuffy ,there was a sml fan on the floor ( no room on table) the carpets/currains were old and stained , sml wooden cupboard for clothes but large old chair right in front so had to keep moving it to get into cupboard ( chair was very heavy) I could go on & on

Our room was clean but lacked shelf space.
A hook for hanging up a dressing gown in the bathroom would have been appreciated.
Initially there was no telephone to contact reception.
Staff were very helpful.
Menu was not very flexible when dealing with intolerances - but food was well cooked.

Unfortunately, our stay fell well below the standard we would expect from a five-star hotel. Our room was extremely hot and humid (no a/c), with inadequate cleaning meaning the fans circulated dust around us and our baby. The bath temperature was unstable, the bath was blocked, the mattress was uncomfortable, and persistent hallway noise and light made it difficult to rest. We were also concerned to see clean towels and bedding left on the hallway floor.
We raised these concerns at checkout but were simply told, “Oh, that’s weird,” with no meaningful response or resolution. We have since received no response to our written feedback either. Very disappointing and certainly not the five-star experience we expected.

Hidden gem in Northleach, cotswolds

A Hidden gem in Northleach. It was our second stay this year. Location is perfect. Atmosphere relaxing, rooms tastefully decorated , clean and comfortable. Excellent value. Delicious food. The perfect and best place to stay in the cotswold.
