Excellent comfortable accommodation

We were made very welcome by the hosts and would thoroughly recommend Polstead lodge to anyone looking for accommodation in the area. Beautifully furnished room with excellent facilities and ample parking.

2 day break

My husband and I visited Polstead Lodge a few weeks ago. We were given a warm welcome and our room was lovely. Breakfast was very good, nicely presented and good choice of cereal and fruit. Would recommend

Just perfect!

We wanted a peaceful Easter away and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect location. Excellent accommodation in the studio which was spotlessly clean and finished to a high standard. Has everything you need for a self catering break - lovely selection of cereals, butter, bread, jam & milk left for us. Lovely touch of fresh daffodils left too. The view from the studio is delightful, peaceful & calming. Dave, was very helpful & pleasant (unfortunately we didn't get to meet Maureen) and he recommended a great local pub which we tried and it was delicious. Thank you, we had a fantastic weekend and would definitely return.

We never go to see the place.

We booked this B&B because of the good reviews, its location and a very favourable advertised room rate. We booked via a well known site beginning with B and ending with .com. Once booked we were called by the owner and told the price was wrong and we would have to pay substantially more. The increased price was still good; however, the owner (man) was boarder-line rude and unapologetic and was blaming the booking site. The booking site also called be and said the owner had put in the wrong price. Later the other owner (woman) also called us and again was rather rude, we felt like we were getting the blame for the error. We were offered a take it at the higher price or leave it. Although I would have been happy with the higher price, we cancelled the booking because we felt like the owners had treated us like naughty children rather than customers.
The whole interaction really made us feel that we did not want to visit the Lodge which was why we cancelled. We rebooked in another B&B nearby with a higher rating and it was even cheaper.

Super place for a quiet country stay

Fabulous big room with a bathroom you could host a party in...
Welcoming host and lovely cooked breakfast...
20min walk to the nearest pub down dark country lanes but there is a copy of the menus and discount voucher in your room (genius)
Clean room with lovely furniture, bed was super comfy.
We would happily stay there again!
