Staff special.

We have not been in the Carlton Hotel for quite a few years. Very impressed with the hotel. The room is good, very clean as is the rest of the hotel but the staff make the hotel special. They are friendly but professional. We had lunch on the day we arrived and dinner tonight - they were both very tasty and great value. Lots of choices available for Breakfast. Liked that we could take our drinks outside till 10pm. Would highly recommend.

We had a really lovely stay. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable bed. The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really nice, full English was fresh, hot and tasty. Great options with cereal, fruit, toast, pastries which we enjoyed. The bar was great and because we had lovely weather we were able to sit at the patio area. We used the bus to get into town and the bus stop was right outside the hotel. We will definitely return and have already recommended to family and friends to visit the hotel.

Will not be back

Staff need to get their act together as far as customer service is concerned. Stood at reception for 5mins whilst the receptionist talked to another customer about nothing to do with hotel questions. I just walked away in the end and left them still talking rubbish. On another occasion we went for breakfast the waitress led us to are table then never came back we left after 10mins

I was disappointed to read your comments regarding both our reception and breakfast service. While I appreciate that you felt you waited too long to be acknowledged , our reception team must ensure that every guest they are assisting receives their full attention and service, regardless of the nature of their enquiry. That said, we do recognise the importance of acknowledging waiting guests and communicating expected wait times, and I'm sorry if this was not your experience.
I also sincerely apologise for your breakfast experience on a previous visit. Being shown to your table and then feeling forgotten is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide. Your comments have been shared with both our reception and restaurant teams so that we can review these situations and reinforce the attentive service our guests should always receive.
We genuinely value all feedback, as it helps us improve, and I regret that we did not leave you with a more positive impression. I do hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to demonstrate the high standards of hospitality we strive to deliver.

Overall pretty good. We ordered in restaurant, brought us the wrong meal, waited again. No explanation for the extended wait. Breakfast was very good, exceeded our expectations.
