Lovely family run hotel. Perfect for weddings and functions.
Celebrated our daughter’s wedding here at this lovely family run hotel and had an amazing day. Location is excellent, a stunning rural setting with easy access to M62. The hotel grounds and facilities were first class. A pool and spa is also under construction and will be a great addition when completed.
The planning and organisation for the big day was great, easing the stress that can be felt in the build up to such a big occasion and helping our daughter to get exactly the wedding day experience she wanted. The food & service throughout the day was excellent.
Our guests were well looked after and those who stayed were impressed with the venue and accommodation.
A big thank you to the family and whole team at The Saddleworth Hotel for helping make this day such a great success.

Beautiful location for a wedding, hostile environment for babies.
Recently stayed for a family wedding. I was travelling solo with a 3 month old. While the actual wedding was lovely, my experience staying with a baby was woefully inadequate, especially from what can be expected from a 4 star hotel.
On arrival there was no proactive offer of luggage assistance and the layout of the hotel is inaccessible for prams, so I imagine people with wheelchairs would also struggle.
Then there was breakfast, room service is standard in a 4 star which I was going to order so I didn’t have to navigate the hotel with a baby but this wasn’t an option.
Went down to the restaurant where the owner was overseeing breakfast service. No table service was offered and I had to leave the baby unattended while I went up to the buffet.(The choice was very limited).
During breakfast the baby cried for a bottle and was probably crying for under a minute while I got this ready for them. The owner said to another guest that I was failing in my job as a mother to let the baby cry!
Once challenged, the owner had an opportunity to apologise, which they did not take. They instead justified thier comments because they didn’t say it directly to me ( they said it to my brother , the groom who had just spent an absolute fortune on this wedding). They are a parent themselves, so they can say what they like about mothers and babies.
I was so shocked by the comment and then the lack of apology that followed I count get out of the hotel soon enough. A very hostile environment for a recently widowed new mother. The man is a dinosaur and shouldn’t be engaging with the public of his views are so outdated. It doesn’t matter how much experience you have ( I have nearly 20 years of hospitality management experience myself) if you can’t hold today’s standards you need to change or step aside. I will definitely be in touch with the AA and any other associated bodies.

Perfect wedding
Held our daughter’s wedding at the hotel on Friday and the only word to describe it is “perfect”. Everything was amazing; the service impeccable from the team, the rooms beautiful and the food excellent. Thank you so much to everyone involved Would 100% recommend

Dont sleep.here
Had suit number 14, guests next door woke us up at 3am, partied in their room until 5.30am. I rowed with them and went to reception. There is no reception during the night. Not sure if it was the guests being noisy or the walls.being paper thin. Hotel.itself os lovely but no sleep is not funny.

Disappointed and misled
Before I state our observations on the Saddleworth Hotel, I admired the enthusiasm of all of you involved in the running of the establishment. Your willingness to give good service was exceptional.
Your web site gave the impression of a 4 star hotel, as did the sign on the entrance wall, but I could not find any association as to the awarding of the accolade!
It extols the restaurant and the delights of the menu, but it was impossible to see the menu’s, even though there was a drop down tab to open the window. Only on arrival we discovered there was a very limited menu choice, with nothing of the “Italian twist” advertised. (l would have expected to be notified during the booking process that the restaurant had been downgraded whilst every one concentrated on the development of the spa.)
On arrival the entrance, drive and garden was impressive. The banquet room (dressed for a wedding ) looked like an inviting venue.
The junior suite was a bitter disappointed, nothing like one would expect for a 4 star hotel. On arrival the room was cold and no control of the heating, (you did supply a heater when requested). The furnishings were a mismatch of designs and especially the wardrobe. The mirror above the dressing table was far too high to be of use when seated in front of it. The window looked impressive but one walking by outside could see in, right through the bedroom to the toilet in the bathroom. The only privacy was to keep the room in darkness.
The bathroom was impressive with a wonderful shower, but the towel rack was so high a small person could not reach. There was not a towel rail to use, or a shelf to place one’s own bathroom items on.
The standard of the room, and the dining facilities were no where near the standard I would expect from a 4 star hotel and sorry to say it was not value for money at all, £320 a night!
