Excellent from every point of view

Everything was truly excellent: very beautiful, charming, and well-maintained house; the host was a true gentleman and very helpful; excellent breakfast; very beautiful and cozy room. Excellent value for money.

A wonderful stay in a historic house

Step back in time to a more gracious age of living in a house that dates back to the 17th C yet has all modern facilities. The hosts were friendly and made sure everything was done to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfasts were delicious with perfectly cooked poached eggs, delicious black pudding and bacon, fresh fruit and yoghurt and excellent coffee. The room, a suite really, was spacious and well furnished in a traditional style. As well as our own sitting room, the library is also available to guests. The only downside is a weak or non-existent mobile phone signal at this location and occasionally iffy WiFi internet. The location is blissfully quiet, rabbits on the extensive grounds and a view of Scapa Flow, 15 minutes drive from Kirkwall. We were here for 5 nights and loved it.

A very special place!!!

A special ambiance - stylish, well-equipped, spacious rooms. The host is accommodating and there is a fantastic breakfast. Thank you!!! If we come to the Orkney Islands again, then certainly to Graemeshall House.

Graemeshall House is an old manor house. Truly unique. It was the perfect spot for our visit to Orkney.
John, the innkeeper was very hospitable , breakfasts were delicious. Our suite was charming.

Our memorable trip to a special place

Our Orkney trip was one I had wanted to do for a while and we evntually did it to celebrate my wife's 70th, my 80th and our 40 years together. Graemshall is a lovely and elegant historic house whose owner is a wonderful host making our stay such a happy one. Chapel View room is large and comfortable and it is very quiet there. From the house we were able to cycle the Churchill Barriers down to St Margaret's Hope and mainland Orkney is so easy to get around to experience the historic sites of which there are many. A truly memorable trip and if we should return at some time, Graemshall would be our first choice. Thank you.
