"Top-notch vibe, cold beer, and fast service."
Exactly what a good pub should be—cozy, welcoming, and serve great food. The draft list is always fresh, and the staff treat you like a regular from day one.

Wonderful pub, full of character in very peaceful setting. Lovely bright room looking out on the garden and you can hear the sound of the birds. Good well-appointed en-suite with easy to use shower. Only 26 minutes drive to Stonehenge!

Special overnight stay

Quick overnighter at this great place. Many visits here. Stayed in Room 4 comfy and warm. Arrived for drinks with pub buzzing and thriving with Sunday lunch family vibe.
Dinner at 7pm peaceful and charming. Perfect for our mood. Breakfast also delicious next to a roaring fire on a misty morning.
A perfect 24 hours felt like many relaxing days!

Another excellent lunch

Have been coming here, off and on, for years. It's a really excellent pub, and seems to be thriving (they have opened an outside area in the warmer months). We had fish pie, and fish and chips, and the service was excellent: warm and personable. Would recommend.

Cute cottage, not for anyone mobility challenged. Very hot bedroom, didn't sleep much because of that (need lighter weight duvets), shame as otherwise lovely room & very quiet. Lovely to eat supper overlooking the field of sheep and lambs. Food was average. Pub chairs could be more comfy. Breakfast rather small (a full english was one mushroom, 1 small sausage, 1/2 tomato, scrambled egg & 2 very crispy bits of bacon. Had to request toast. Cold option was lovely but limited, juice, granola, yogurt & compote. Nice walks to be had from the door (we enjoyed the river walk through fields to a church, starting virtually opposite the pub).
