Slightly underwhelming at first

Overall we had a wonderful holiday!
On arrival i was expecting something amazing as it isn't the cheapest BB and you also have to pay for parking. The room was very tired and this is the only reason i left off 1 star. The bed was very comfortable, there was everything you could possibly need and the views were spectacular. The breakfast was very nice and plentiful.
We ate here for the whole of our stay as the food is really nice. Our visiting family also ate here with us. The staff offered to book us a table for dinner as the restaurant gets extremely busy and being able to book a table is exclusive to staying guest's at this time of year..
Overall we had a wonderful few days here and would stay again.

The room was lovely & clean, nice carpet and curtains, the balcony was very nice to have a cuppa in the morning sunshine . The bathroom had a lovely large powerful shower with lots of hot water. The bathroom was in need of some updating, looked more like a NHS bathroom (clinical) but functional.. You can decide every day if you want your room serviced, so that’s a nice touch and nothing was too much trouble either. Breakfast is served between 8.30 - 9.30. Offering a cooked breakfast in small or large. Sausage or bacon sandwich on brown or white bread. Tea cakes, croissants or toast with jam, marmalade or Marmite. Large glass of orange or apple juice and plenty of tea and filter coffee. You can only choose one item from the menu.
The meals in pub are very filling with lots of choices. They will always make sure you have a table if you are staying with them and would like to eat there.
They do not have a lift so rooms are accessed by stairs only.
We had a three night break away and enjoyed our stay.

We’ve had a fantastic break at The Steamer Inn, been coming to the IOW for 60 years on and off with Parents, children and grandchildren, staying all over the Island, this time it was just myself and Hubby and I could not have booked a more relaxing spot for two adults, the sound of the waves was perfect for getting to sleep and also to wake up to, the balcony looked out over the beach, fabulous food, breakfast was something else, and entertainment, staff were so friendly and helpful, I would say it’s also right in the middle of things if you bring children too!

A great break!

We stayed in room 4, a double with en-suite large shower. The room was larger than we expected & the balcony looked directly onto the beach. The room was a little dated but had ample storage space for our 3 nights visit. The bed was comfortable & water pressure in the shower good. All the staff were extremely pleasant. Georgie the manager spotted us with our suitcase in the queue at the bar and immediately checked us in. Breakfast was served in the bar and was extremely filling. They reserved us a table for dinner each night and the food was delicious & generous portions! We had a lovely time!

I have just completed a three night stay at The Steamer, arriving on Saturday 01 August and leaving on Tuesday 04 August. I stayed in Room 3, which was a comfortable double room with its own terrace. The room was spacious and clean, with all the necessities needed for a three night stay. The shower in the bathroom was one of the strongest I have come across — practically a pressure washer — and certainly no complaints there.
If I were to nit pick, and this is purely personal preference, the bathroom floor had that clinical style vinyl safety flooring — the sort you would usually see in hospitals or changing rooms — and it was not really to my taste.
The terrace was a lovely addition. Watching the sun rise from there was genuinely peaceful, and you can really make the most of the views.
Despite being above a busy pub, you surprisingly hear very little noise in the room. Breakfast was included in my stay, and I can confirm that the offering was excellent. The full English is made from quality produce and sets you up well for the day.
Breakfast timings are slightly limited, running only between 08:30 and 09:30. This did not affect me too much, but I personally prefer a later breakfast option. Considering the pub serves breakfast to the public from 10:00 onwards, it would be nice if there was a little flexibility for guests. However, with checkout being at 10:00, I can understand why the breakfast window is set as it is.
