A pleasant overnight stay in the Garden Room.

The fourth overnight stay on a 4 night road trip with friends through southern Suffolk, Sutherland House was by far the priciest of the 4 places we stayed and the only one that didn’t include breakfast. Although I didn’t get to the bottom of it, our friends were charged twice for the room (resolved prior to the trip) and sent instructions on accessing their room on arrival. No access instructions were sent to us so our friend had to call the number she’d previously been given, to get them for us. However, once we got the code, room access all worked well, as did key return next morning.
My husband and I had the Garden Room, which was very pleasant The room itself was comfortable, spotlessly clean, with a well filled hospitality tray, and it was great to be able to open the doors onto the patio area. Had the weather been nicer, it would have been a great area to enjoy drinks with our friends, although the furniture and cushions looked like they could have done with a jolly good clean. The bed, however, was the least comfortable of the 4 we’d slept in on our trip. Single use toiletries were provided and it would have been nice to see the more environmentally friendly, full size bottles that were in the other place we stayed. A perfectly lovely room but way too overpriced!

Simply superb

Our meal was deserving of an even higher star rating than 5 Star.
Absolutely wonderful dishes throughout the evening matched by attentive table service. We were very appreciative of the skill in the kitchen.

Horrible service. Very disappointed

Terrible experience here with the rudest staff I’ve ever come across. Really unfortunate as the room was great but the chap downstairs running service was disgusting to my partner and I.

Wonderful meal, lovely team

An absolute standout meal. The monkfish wellington was the highlight of the night - perfectly cooked and incredibly flavourful. The service was attentive making the whole evening feel special. Highly recommended.
