We were upgraded to a balcony room which was a lovely surprise.

Not recommended. Over priced and worn out.
Location was lovely, very convenientfor Sutton Hoo. The breakfast was good, lots of variety and plenty of it. 100% self-sevre including the coffee from a single coffee machine which dispensed 1 coffee every 2-3 minutes...with a hotel full you can guess how long it took to get a coffee, twice while we were waiting the machine errored out and twice the guest at the front of the queue had to flag down a member of staff. Then it ran out of milk! The coffee was good though. The staff were very pleasant. Other guests were lovely. That's about where the lovely ends.
The place is tired, and needs an over haul. Added to which the quality of the sundries used is low, thin napkins, thin towels.
No wash cloths in the bathroom. No robe or slippers - its supposed to be a spa hotel... and the only toiletries are handwash/bodywash and handcream. No shampoo or conditioner.
In our room the carpet was missing in places. There's no in room fridge and no ac. There was a nice quiet fan.
The bedside table was wine stained and there where water marks in the wood.
The mirrors had fingerprints and the windows were dirty - wouldn't be bothered about the latter, given the current drought if the rest was passable.
The bathroom sink plug didn't stop the water draining away and it was caked with grime around the chrome bit.
I might be sounding petty, but if this was a cheap stay I wouldn't complain about any of it, at close to £200 a night this place is not acceptable.
Would not recommend, wouldn't go back.

Dear Andrew and team,
My wife and I have just come back from a stay at Ufford Park and wanted to provide some feedback.
Our booking was in the name of Lucy Payne and through Red Letter Day. We used the gym, pool, spa, had treatments and dined in the restaurant.
Firstly, the good
The gym and spa staff were very helpful and we both enjoyed our treatments. I had a good massage with Molly.
The food at dinner and breakfast was nice.
Now the not so good.
Having booked a visit to the thermal spa, it was disappointing to find most of the facilities out of order. Having looked at Google reviews, this has been the case for at least a month. I don't think you should be offering the spa as part of any package as most of it is unusable.
Our room (120) was ok but in need of some maintenance. Using the shower makes the bathroom very wet, even with the shower door closed. The hot tap was coming out of place and a bit fell of the cold tap. One of the electrical sockets nearest the door was not working.
Our biggest complaint though was with some of the staff at dinner and breakfast. At dinner I asked one of the waitresses if she was ok and she responded she wanted to 'throw herself down the stairs' and was having the 'worst day ever'. I'd be very concerned if my staff were saying that to customers and would be worried about their wellbeing.
At breakfast we waited at the door and no one greeted us. A fellow customer advised just to sit wherever. The coffee machine was out of order and the sign said to ask a member of staff. My wife went to the bar and asked for a latte, to which the girl serving seemed very put out. At the hot service there were no hash browns or sausages, so again my wife asked a member of staff who barely acknowledged her and told her just to go and wait.
The combination of all of the above led me to complain directly to a girl in charge, who was very apologetic and said she would raise it with the manager.
A couple who were leaving, stopped at our table to say they appreciated us complaining as they had been reluctant to. They had asked for some orange juice, to which they were told, by whoever the manager was at the time, that there was none, but he would get them some oranges and they could squeeze their own.
My assumption is that there is a severe morale problem or a lack of basic customer service training. None of the above was acceptable and we certainly wouldn't stay again under the current conditions.
I'd be interested to hear your response, as a lot of what I've mentioned is common across a number of Google reviews.

We booked Ufford Park through a Wowcher deal and honestly could not have been more pleased with our stay.
From the moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome and the check-in was friendly, efficient and professional. We had a small issue with our room, but Matt and Zanthi dealt with it incredibly quickly and efficiently, which really demonstrated the excellent level of customer service throughout the hotel.
I have some very particular dietary requirements, and I was genuinely impressed by how easily and happily the restaurant accommodated me. Both lunch and dinner were adjusted to suit my needs without any fuss whatsoever. The food was really good quality, with plenty of choice, and having both dinner and breakfast included in our package made the stay even better.
The pool was lovely and a great place to relax. Our room also had Netflix available and a lovely sunny balcony, which was a real bonus.
All in all, this was a really enjoyable stay and exceptional value for money, especially considering we booked through Wowcher. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful and welcoming.

A lovely, relaxing stay...
We booked a last minute overnight stay and were slightly concerned, having read some disappointing reviews.
However, from our arrival until our departure, we were very pleasantly surprised. Our room, overlooking the golf course and with a lovely balcony, was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was clearly newly installed and beautiful.
We ate dinner in the restaurant, which was tasty and plentiful. The staff were really helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
This morning, I swam in the pool and there were only two other people so it was relaxing and peaceful. My partner used the gym and thought it was great too.
Breakfast was buffet style. The waitress was helpful and friendly. Breakfast itself offered everything anyone could need and the dining room was busy with golfing groups preparing to go out for the day.
We will definitely return and we would recommend a room with a view (and a balcony), on the first floor! A lovely stay, thank you.
