Location location location. Oh and amazing customer service.
We booked very last minute for a night at the Ferry Boat inn. The receptionist Karen was super helpful informing us of parking and facilities over the phone. When we arrived Karen was again on shift this time in the bar. Both Karen and her colleague whose name I didn't catch were attentive and couldn't have been more helpful.
The location of this hotel is amazing the views are stunning.
The room was clean and warm. Maybe the bathroom could do with an upgrade but we would stay again and again for the customer service alone.

Serious concerns: Safety, privacy, cleanliness, poor staff conduct
I had a very disappointing experience at this Hotel and ended up leaving early due to multiple serious issues. The room was unclean and poorly maintained, which immediately made the stay uncomfortable. On top of that , I did not feel safe during my time there ,and there were concerns around my privacy that should never arise in any hotel. What made the situation worse ( with the exception on the lovely lady I returned my keys to) was the attitude of the staff. They were rude and unhelpful when these issues were raised , showing little concern for guest comfort or satisfaction. Due to these problems
I decided to leave early .unfortunately, no refund was offered despite the circumstances, which was extremely frustrating and felt unfair. Booking.com have since given a partial refund as per their policy . Overall this was a very negative experience. I would not recommend this hotel, and significant improvements are needed in cleanliness , safety, customer service, and guest care . The tourist board should seriously look into this property, as it does not meet the basic expectations for guests safety , cleanliness, or service .
Callum at the head office did take the time to listen to my concerns , which was appreciated although the issues remained unresolved.

Sand in the bed
We booked 2 rooms for Good Friday, one for us and one for our son (rooms 3 and 5). His room - 5 - seemed to be ok but ours less so. It was very unsettling to get into bed and feel something rough at the end of our bed in the bottom third of the bed, on both sides. We pulled off the duvet and brushed sand onto the floor. This implies that sheets had not been changed from previous guest. We have never experienced anything quite like it. Emailed hotel 3 times and had no response. No one around when we left but we did email within 3 hours to tell them.

Very poor standard at a high price point
It would be ok if it was half the price that it was. £150 a night is way too steep for what it was. The room was quite dirty. Dust everywhere. The mattress had reached its end of life. The room was tiny. Paper thin wall for the bathroom with a door handle falling off. It had been previously bodged as it had been put back on with rawl plugs (in wood).The main room door was badly damaged and had expanding foam packed out where a door lock had been changed. Room was tired. Shower was a tiny little electric shower in a very small cubicle. Toilet was fitted with a very noisy pump that you’d hear from the corridor outside. Toilet seat wouldn’t stay up and was on squint.
If it was 70 quid a night I’d accept the standard but this is very poor.
Food is over priced for pub grub which was only “ok”.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone staying here that has any standards tbh. If you charge a premium you got to deliver just a little to justify
