Ticks every great pub box

I haven’t visited this beautiful rustic pub in some months but dropped in for Sunday lunch yesterday. WOW IT WAS GREAT! The food was generous,well presented and delicious. The well trained staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient and the landlord, who has a reputation for well kept beer, really delivered with a choice of five or six or so excellently kept brews including Timothy Taylor and White Witch. As if that wasn’t enough, I was able to view the best whiskey collection I have ever seen. I perused over five hundred bottles, superbly displayed in an impressive illuminated cabinet upstairs. This is an exceptionally well run pub that impressed me so much, I’m going back on Wednesday. Very well done all concerned❤️

Just had a lovely dinner at the lower buck. Food good, service good, lovely atmosphere.

Best beef I've ever eaten

Best beef I've ever eaten. The portion sizes were decent, and respective of price. I would have been delighted to eat any of the plates our table ordered.

May break walking

I am of a senior age and visited many pubs in my lifetime, this is up with the best, the welcoming, cleanliness, ambience and not least the quality of ales on offer was exceptional. From the first visit the landlord Ed made us welcome and though we did not eat there the food on display looked tremendous, justifiably so looking at the number of people dining.
Pubs such as this are a rarity, no gimmicks just genuine value, we have also visited in mid winter with roaring fires and additional feature.
