Not our greatest experience
To start with a positive, we were allowed to check in early, which we really appreciated, and the location is excellent — right on the doorstep of the city centre.
However, there were several issues that significantly impacted our stay. The listing suggested a two-room apartment, but in reality it was just one room divided by a curtain, which was not what we expected, especially as we were travelling with two toddlers. We had informed the hosts in advance that we would be bringing two two-year-olds, yet we were placed on the third floor with no lift. This made accessing the apartment extremely difficult, as we had to carry two prams, two toddlers, and our belongings up multiple flights of stairs. As a result, we couldn’t even manage additional luggage or shopping.
The apartment itself was very basic and not particularly comfortable. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, and we were required to make up the beds ourselves upon arrival, including putting on duvet covers and preparing the sofa bed, which is not something we would expect at this price point.
Cleanliness was generally acceptable, but the bathroom was not up to standard and could have been cleaner.
We were also asked to take the bins out upon departure, which involved going down three flights of stairs. With two toddlers, prams, luggage, and leftover food, this felt quite unreasonable.
Another downside was the noise. Although the central location is convenient, there is a busy pub directly across the road, which resulted in loud noise late into the night and early hours of the morning. In addition, we were woken very early on our final morning by window cleaners cleaning the windows at around 6am, followed by bin wagons making a significant amount of noise outside. This disturbed our children before a long day of travelling home.
There was an information guide provided, but unfortunately we were not made aware of it properly and only discovered part of it as we were leaving.
Overall, we do not feel this stay offered good value for money, and the experience did not meet our expectations, particularly given the price and the needs we had clearly communicated in advance.
