Top hotel
A wonderful hotel with beautiful rooms featuring comfortable beds and luxurious bathrooms.
On the rooftop, there’s a restaurant with an outstanding view and a signature menu. Every dish is exclusive and incredibly delicious.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Breakfast at sunrise on the top floor was especially wonderful.

Great hotel open for a few nights in Kiev
We really enjoyed our stay at Cityhotel. The hotel is very well appointed, the reception staff are friendly and helpful and speak good English and it is conveniently located with good access to public transport.
We booked one of the rooms with a separate sitting area which was well worth it. There is a lovely cafe next door and we often bought a cake in the evening to eat in the room. Given we didn’t get breakfast with the room rate we also went to this cafe for breakfast and we would highly recommend it.
The only two comments we would have are the window seals were not great and there is quite a bit of nose from the road at the front of the hotel. Also we were offered a ‘spa treatment’ as part of our room rate but when we asked reception we were told this was just ‘use of the sauna for an hour’. This is the first time I have ever heard of a sauna being described as a ‘spa treatment’.
We’d definitely stay here next time we visit Kiev. Kiev is a lovely city to spend anywhere up to a week. There is plenty to do inside and outside of the city.

Location is good. But priceses are high
Prices are so high. But hygiene is not good. Hotels location is the best. Breakfast variation is so less. Staff are very slow.

We would like to thank You for Your review. We are glad that You highly appreciated the location of the hotel. I regret to receive the comment about hygiene. Our housekeeping attendants are cleaning rooms every day, and before check-in we have a deep cleaning of the room.
Kindly note that we are currently expanding range of buffet meals, improving the variety. In the nearest time we will add Healthy corner with different healthy dishes. But please be advised that on daily basis we are providing to our guests the good choice of fresh bread, croissants, cakes, cookies and sweet pastries. On our cold buffet a great choice of cold cuts meat, sausages and cheese, yougurts, fresh fruits and vegetables, and even salted fish: makerel or other kinds. Also we have jams and marmalades, muesli and breakfast cereals corner. Also every morning our waiters are offering the different eggs preparation: soft boiled egg, hard boiled egg, fried egg, scrambled eggs, and different omlette served plain or with different garnishes like ham, cheese, onion, tomato, sliced sausages etc.

Why would you want to stay there
The hotel is one of many in its category. Relatively new. Relatively well preserved. Quite good location.
As a regular visitor of Kiev I decided to give it a try. One and the last. The look and feel from lobby to rooms is quite depressing, with heavy colour scheme and excessive use of wood veneer in a failed attempt to look premium.
Staff are nice but disempowered. I checked in as VIP Gold Expedia customer and did not get any of the declared benefits. The chap at reception tolerated my discontent but was not able to help as only the manager can change room allocation (and is was almost 3:00 AM so no manager in sight). I complained and got no response.
Given the price is at the higher end of the range for its category, best is to stay clear unless they have the last rooms available in town.

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay in Cityhotel. We appreciate your opinion about the rooms and lobby. I should clarify that we do have a beautiful lobby with original premium class italian furniture, white marble stairs, and natural wooden veneer. The lobby is light - there are glass doors and windows, white floor and white marble stairs are creating the image of at least good business class style hotel. The level of service at the hotel is fully consistent with the accepted standards of service 4 stars hotel, which is confirmed by an absolute majority of our guests positive feedbacks from different sources.
We regret to hear that you were not satisfied with us, probably it happened because we couldnt confirm with you required as Gold Member complimentary upgrade from Standard room to Junior Suite (3 categories higher) in the time of 100% occupancy during late check-in aftermignight when the management team is not available even to discuss this request. Kindly note that in agreement with Expedia we dont have such confirmed benefits for Expedia VIP guests and it would be difficult to find the 100+ rooms hotel in the world which could confirm free of charge upgrade for 3 categories without management approval in such late time. I was trying to reach you several times by the phone to explain you information about Expedia VIP guests, but unfortunately I couldnt reach you.

Welcome to Kiev.
Really nice place to stay. Location location location - next to everything. Stuff very friendly and helpful, room nice and clean. Staying there feels like staying in high end luxury place but the price is just normal. I will thing about this hotel first before doing any booking in Kiev.
