Good location and you feel more connection to the city then a newly build hotel
Staff is very friendly. Rooms are very nice. The night concierge doesn't speak a lot of English, but no problem, she called the day concierge and problem was solved.
You live in one of the old buildings, which is really a very nice experience, and inside it is very convenient, clean and comfortable.
There is no elevator, but stairs are very accessible. I hope the corridor up to the hotel and the facade will be restored soon. Inside the hotel everything is restored and they put in enough electrical sockets to satisfy every traveler.
I missed a fridge in the room (but if you ask you can use the one in the kitchen)
Curtains could be better, they don't help a lot when the sun is up.
But these are just very small points, overall I recommend this hotel.

Know before you book it.
My husband and I visited Odessa in August 2021. We stayed in this hotel 4 days. Lets start with positive : location is a win; very convenient if you want to be close to the center, Opera house, walking distance to Deribasovskay St.
We arrived at night around 9:30pm . There is the sign with the hotel name, but door was closed. It took for a while when personal on duty opened the door. The entrance to the hotel was impressive, but not in a good way, particularly if you have a suitcase or heavy baggage . There is 3story impressive marble stairs before you reach reception and your room. Luckily we had a friend who helped us to carry our baggage upstairs.
This "hotel" was redone from the communist era communal apartments. They restore this apartments and try to do it as a museum: a lot of art in heavy gold frames, sculptures and artificial flowers, candles all over and in every room, but it has nothing to do with a minimal comfort that traveler needs. We were staying at room that had a king size bed (it is exactly what we were looking for). The mattress was ok, but pillow was awful: small, unusable. There were no night stands or any stand in the room to charge your phone or tablet, no place to open your suitcase. There is narrow wardrobe built in, but most suitcases wouldn't fit in it.
The bathroom is dangerous for use. I personally fall down after taking a shower on a 2 steps that became extremely slippery with drops of water from shower. There is no curtain to avoid this. I was fortune just get bruises all over the body, but not to become disable on my vacation. The other interesting thing that hair dryer is attached to stand the way you only can use it with the stand hanging on the wire when you are drying your hair. There is a nice spacious kitchen for common use. Its located on the further part of hotel. There is a refrigerator, microwave and stove, but at the same kitchen they are drying out the towels that guest used, on the dry rack, almost the way it was done 25 years ago. Towels are worn out, very firm and not pleasant for use. Also most of the time the reception was not present, particularly at evening and late night hours, so no way that you can ask for anything. You just go yourself into service room , where are washer and dryer, and change towels yourself or bed sheets. Free WIFI, but didnt work at all in our room.
I would not recommend this hotel to any travelers. There are close by much better hotels. We paid for the room at the high season (august) around $110.00

Highly recomend!
I liked this hotel. Great location in center of the city. Comfortable rooms are clean with beautiful interior. High ceilings and antique furniture, a lot of free space. Staff are polite and caring. I would stay there again. Highly recomend!

Charming hotel
All was perfect. Great Location, hotel is very cosy and charming. The room decoration was awesome, very beautiful with a piano and huge mirror. Staff was great, excellent service. I ll definitvely come back !

STAY AWAY !!!!!
I booked a room for a few day while staying in the city using Expedia for the booking. After reading some reviews I immediately "15 minutes later" called to cancel and was told I would be charged one nights stay for canceling. First there is no elevator at all just 2 1/2 flights of old stairs. The rooms are not as advertised at all. They are small and not comfortable at all. The bed did not have an sort of blankets or comforter " just sheets on a mattress" and I had to ask for these. The hotel is actually a converted apartment with a few rooms total. The towels remind me of the towels from gym class in high school. The blonde staff woman is the worst hotel employee I have ever met and I am a Corperate traveler. I decided after 2 horrible days there to move and she yelled at me and to me she would have me blacklisted from Expedia for moving hotels as well as charge me a another nights stay. All I can stay about this place is stay for away. I will be posting pics of everything.
