Because the special circumstances, this review is only about the the services. Because I mistakenly booked our flight one day earlier than our hotel booked (at another hotel), we found ourselves without a hotel room in the middle of the night. I tried all booking platforms and failed to find one allowing me to book that night because it had passed the mid night and were only showing the “new date”. Finally I accidentally bumped into Star Hotel and allowed me to still book that night.
The owner of Star Hotel was shocked when we showed up around 1am, because he had closed booking for that night. But still he welcomed us and frankly explained that the rooms were all booked and would let us choose a room reserved for their employees. They saved us from a night in the streets and the owner and his staff were very kind, friendly and helpful! We are forever grateful !

Good place to stay in Tashkent (not far from city center)

Stayed in the hotel for 5 nights for work purposes in Tashkent. The hotel is 20 mins away by taxi from Tashkent Airport (the reasonable taxi rate should be 25-50 k Uzbek Sum, do not pay 100K). The hotel is 5 floors buildings with the spacious rooms and breakfast cafe located downstairs. The washroom is big and the quality of bed is reasonable. The staff is helpful and I don't remember any problem. Breakfast buffet could be improved. 25 mins walk to Pushkin metro or you can easy grab a taxi to center for around 10-15 k Uzbek Sum (more than 10 mins drive). Nearby you can find a good variety of restaurants.

Vintage style budget hotel

I don't know what the building in which this hotel is located used to be in the past, but it has a classy vintage look. The hotel itself is a decent budget hotel, with good buffet breakfast offered in the basement. Although there's a busy road nearby (you can catch the bus and metro over there), the street itself is rather quiet and not too noisy.
