Great place to stay

Highly recommend Chantilly’s on the Bay. The room was great, bed was very comfortable and the views were beautiful. All of the staff were helpful and very friendly and welcoming. Wonderful bistro, the food was so good. Location was great too. Special thank you to Silas who went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. Will definitely stay again.

It's Gone.

It's gone! The site of Chantilly's in now a vacant block after it was demolished because of earthquake damage. Sad. Hopefully they will build a replacement but that will take a long time with all the repair work under way in town. At least the Banyan Beach bar seems to be still operating.

Best stay ever in Port Vila

Such a great location. Just slide back the the curtain and you are blown away with the beautiful view. The water has so many colours and as the light changes, so do the colours. We were just a 10 min walk to town for our supplies and 5 min in the other direction for the french patisserie which was top notch. Also a great burger joint and juice bar over the road. The room had a safe which gave me reassurance that my passport and valuables would be secure when we went out. The room was well appointed with a huge comfortable bed, kitchen facilities, nice bathroom and everything worked and no mold anywhere. The cleaners were great fun and did a faultless job as everything was spotless. All the staff were friendly and engaging. The resturant did a nice eggs benny and had a decent coffee. I have stayed in Port Vila many times and this was the best experience.

Seen better days

I stayed in the Chantilly's for a couple of days on a business trip. On the positive side:
The location at sea front with sunsets is nice as is the restaurant which has good food. Each room has a balcony facing the sea front. Staff friendly. But the list ends here.
Overall, the hotel is rather expensive for what is being offered. Directly by the street, you have traffic noise form the road. Rooms are very outdated and need urgent refurbishment. Cleanliness could be improved and bathrooms are tiny: you need to step into the shower, close the door, and then step out again to access the toilet. The fittings in the bathroom are old and not maintained. The fridge hums as loud as an old car engine in the night. The room safe is tiny and operated with a key. The restaurant is very good but expensive and a meal, desert, and 2 glass of wine can easily set you back by US$ 50 or more. I requested late check out upon arrival and it was confirmed ok. Only upon checkout I was informed that I had to pay a fee for later checkout, which was, however, modest. Despite being booked via an international hotel booking site with price confirmed, 3.5% were added for using a 'foreign credit card'.
Overall, I cannot fully recommend the hotel. Outdated, scruffy, and somewhat expensive for what you get.

Air conditioning!

Air conditioning!!! After 8 days of heat and fans, it was so nice to have air conditioning. I only stayed here for one night to catch an early morning flight so I didn't get to appreciate the full facilities.
The entrance was nice, the dining area was great (including indoor and deck dining over the water. I even saw an eel from there during dinner.
There was a pool. The tv played Foxtel sports (NRL, AFL that I saw for the homesick).
