A place in perfect harmony with the paradise of Los Roques

Posada La Gotera is a true paradise in the Roques, noted for its delicate, select and special attention, as well as for its gastronomic, each dish served is a total delight, not only for its flavor but also for its presentation. Staying in the Gotera is the perfect and necessary complement to live the experience of enjoying this magical destination that is the Roques, all the details, its spaces, its attention and its gastronomic are in absolute harmony with the Roques, there is no place more appropriate than this, I really recommend it. If you are going as a couple please ask for the room with sea view!

It looks very good from the outside.

I wasn't in the hotel myself. Just walking past the beach. Suddenly a black dog came running out of the hotel towards me. According to Bellent and attacked me. Just because the owners called in back, otherwise he would have bitten me. Such dogs should be locked away. Just don't stay here with kids or hang around. It's dangerous.

Wonderful team and great decorations

I really loved this small boutique hotel.
Everything is decorated with so many thougths. Every dinner was a surprise how they decorated the tables. I loved the terasse on the upper floor. The sunset is just amazing there. The people working there treat you like a family member - very individual and super kind. The rooms are unfortunately pretty dark - but I guess this is because of the airconditioning. I can strongly recommend to book the rooms upstairs because they are the only ones with a view.

Not worth the cost

The charge for two people per night was $590. I expected a lot more for that cost. In their defense, the service was lovely and attentive. The rooms were pretty awful. Rustic is one thing but the rooms were pretty filthy and not updated for decades it seems. The toilet didn’t consistently work and when they “serviced” the rooms they didn’t actually clean things up (left stained sheets in bed, wet towels on the shower floor, a clump of someone else’s hair in the shower drain, sticky remotes). It truly felt like the rooms weren’t cleaned for years. The rooms are also very dark, like a prisoner cell. I believe that many rooms don’t have windows. Our room was off the kitchen and facing the patio — lots of loud music and noise. People say the food is good but I thought it was meh. Again I love a rustic beach shack but my complaint is the price compared to what you get. We left a few days early (recognizing that we wouldn’t get a refund, which I’ve. Never done before ) to go to a new posada Chelonia. The prices are high but we only paid a few hundred more for an AMAZING experience. If you want a posada that’s cool and tasteful and about the same price go to Caracol or Acuarela (very clean, cool, great food and service. ). If not, spend more and go to Chelonia. Incredible.
As a business owner I hate leaving negative reviews but this place was nowhere near the value for the buck (except for the lovely staff)

What a wonderful place

I have no words to describe how nice this posada is. What a wonderful place. All details have been taken care of. The staff is a bunch of great people. Ana the cook is unbelievable. Jonathan is great. Highly recommended for a short getaway either with family or just a couple as ourselves. Definitely will come back
