Five Stars Because People Make the Difference

At first glance, some might wonder why I am giving this hotel five stars. It is not because the rooms or the facilities are luxurious or flawless. They are comfortable, pleasant and perfectly adequate, but they are not what makes this place exceptional.
Mansa Hotel deserves five stars because of the people who bring it to life.
Carina and Hélio are, without exaggeration, among the finest hotel managers we have ever met. Their professionalism, genuine warmth, and extraordinary attention to every guest transform a stay into a truly memorable experience. They have that rare gift of making you feel less like a customer and more like a welcomed friend. Hospitality, at its very best, is about people, and they embody it perfectly.
And then there is the restaurant. The Esmoregal com molho laranja com arroz frutos secos is simply extraordinary. It is one of those dishes that stays with you long after your trip has ended. Elegant, perfectly balanced, and beautifully executed, it would not feel out of place on the menu of a three-Michelin-star restaurant.
Thank you, Carina and Hélio, for making our stay in Mindelo so special. You proved that genuine hospitality is not measured by the number of amenities a hotel offers, but by the care and passion of the people who welcome you. We came as guests and left with wonderful memories. We cannot wait to return.

How to start !! We arrived in Mindello, we had sent 2 emails to the hotel for the airport transfer, no one came to pick us up, so we took a taxi upon arrival, nothing, no apologies!! We were taken to our room, no electricity!! In the end, it was the individual meter; the person took 20 minutes to find it, and ultimately the bathroom light stayed on all night. For the rest of the stay, the staff was nonexistent, breakfast was cold and not varied, and when there was nothing left, you had to ask; the pool was disgusting!!! To top it off, we had our belongings stolen from the balcony in the middle of the night, no lights on the balconies at night, and no security service in the hotel, no functional cameras. The next day, the police took fingerprints, and there was no reaction from the hotel manager, just the purchase of sneakers in a shop selling counterfeit goods from China. So in summary, put a competent manager in place; it is a waste!!!!! We booked through Booking, and we cannot leave comments!!!

Was a nice stay with all staff very helpful.
They have some issues with maintenance of spaces, like bathroom or outside floors... But in overall was ok... Everything where we ask for help was solved very quickly. Congrats to all stuff of this hotel. I'll be back soon

Safe lovely mini-resort, right in the center of the okd town. Everything at walking distance. Excellent restaurant on-site with high-quality food. Feels like a second home. Great value/money.

The room was very clean. Perhaps a bit dated and in need of a fresh coat of paint. Other rooms were getting renovated. The room was spacious. AC worked well, internet worked well. Breakfast was good, but not really ready by 7am. It's all on island time!
